BP100 is just 100 octane leaded fuel
Isn't it?

I though av gas was different?

The bP100 would be better for longevity surely.

Avgas is nominally rated at 105/110. Its great for planes where it can't freeze inside the wings at really low temps ;).....and the consistency of the quality is the best money can buy........but its getting expensive these days. Only $1.25 a litre when I first raced the Black Pearl (2001)......

Alcohol is the go Rob - bump up the cr to 12:1 and kick some arse mate ! :kuda:

Wattie we use the term avgas loosely as its an alternative when desperate & can't get BP100.

Nice pick!! Hope you guys post some pics up soon!

One question though, do you work on the engine yourself? I have a CB500F that needs some work done... It won't happen any time this year I don't think but I wouldn't mind someone pointing me to a good mechanic. It seems there aren't many around that really know how to work on these bikes and I just happen to be mechanically challenged.

You could always go and talk to Steve Leembruggen. He runs a lot of old bikes in certain race events, and knows his way around old motors as well. I can't recall the name of his business but someone here will.....

Gos us right Steve is quiet knowledgeable, westerns at penrith is where he is now, I think he owned metro spares at some time as well.
EDU I work on the older bikes as they are easy, done a heap of rebuilds including performance kits etc, my only obstacle these days is time.
One other thing is if I do it myself I know it's good, had a rebuild done by a mechanic that shit itself on the first outing, the valve clearances were not right & it spat a valve top into the carbs holding the carbs open at full revs, nearly died at the end of the straight at Oran Park!
Arsehole mechanic claimed it on insurance & covered the $4k rebuild.
Never Again!
I can also fall back on Scotty, through SDG if I get stuck for technical stuff.
Will post pics soon.

Tim, i don't think there will be many rounds at the creek, I wont be ready for the Island classic or Barry Sheene so I will just concentrate on the club rounds, mostly Wakyfield but the calender has not been put up yet so no idea.
