Ninja650R Vs 650L QLD LAMS approved

Just wondered if anyone can shed some light on the difference between the 650L and 650R and if both are LAMS approved. I know the 650L is as we have one in the family already, but looking at buying one that is a 2013 model 650R. Thanks
