Freeway riding/constant revs

Postby Trox » Thu May 26, 2011 9:42 pm

Today I rode to a course in Para from the Gong, as such I was on the Freeway and Motorway a fair amount of the trip and found myself at a fairly constant rev, I intend on riding more on the Freeway to work as well.

With this in mind and having just finished breaking in my 250, albeit a contraversial subject, one thing seemed to be common in people thoughts was that whilst breaking in you should avoid riding at constant revs (which I did....pretty well anyway :? ).

Does this apply after break in as well? (hope I didn't open up the "break-in can'o'worms")
Is there an optimum or preferred rev range to sit in (obviously I can change up or down gears to sit at a lower or higher rev rate)?

Thanks

With modern engines and oils of today your bike Will run fine at a constant rpm it's only competition ( Mx and enduro) bikes that don't like to be held at constant rpm for long periods of time. Top gear and go for it mate

Revs should be a constant 16K rpm in 6th gear on those little things. Keep up the good work :D

That motor is as strong as any! Powerful No but built to last yes :D And that little 250R is good for a 2.05 at Eastern Creek on a trackday ;) So dont stress that bike is built tough and will withstand whatever u throw at it :D
