Similar thing happened to me ridin through Parramatta the other day - taxi driver just decided he was comin over, and over he came. Luckily i was positioned in the lane such that he didnt wipe me out.

But yeah, plenty of people have told me that the best thing to do while on a bike is assume that every car on the road is actively trying to kill you. Makes ya feel so good inside that does.

Got to agree with the "everyone else on the road is out to kill you" mantra, hell my dad even taught that to me even while i was learning to drive. Another thing he taught me which megs has picked up is "always look for an exit strategy" which is also quite true as well.
