not that i think breaking the speed limit is cool or anything and i advise against it unless on track but the lams is a joke
(not that its a bad idea its a great one its there to try save riders )

because my ninja has enuff power to do the speedo to the red line and it has enuff to power to wheelie (not power wheelies though from the lights ) and during a very smooth road i tested it out and its only a 250

anything over 100kh is enuff to generaly kill you
on aussie roads
dont drink and ride its just stupid

So why is LAMS a joke? it is there to protect learners from offing themselfs on over powered hyerbikes, it doesn't get any simpler than that, I grew up with the old system where 250cc was the only choice (be it a pretty poor choice of rides), these days you have a wide range of larger capacity bikes at your disposal bduh.gif

lams is a joke when you've been on it for 11 months and 10 days. But it's not a joke in 23 days. :D

Yes & the car system has serious flaws... the biggest one being lack of professional training.

Take both pills and you end up like Heath Ledger!

I used to think the whole restriction thing was bullshit too. I have been riding dirt bikes since i was a wee little bloke and thought i was pretty top shit on a bike.
Fact is, when your riding a 250 or LAMS approved bike and start talking about bigger bikes being OK to ride as a newly licensed rider, you dont really appreciate the power they actually have.

A ZX6/7/9/10 etc is a lot different to ninja250 or even an er6n.
They might feel like pussy cats when your poodling around below 5000rpm, but open the throttle properly and they will tear your farking arms off and leave you wondering why the air tastes like the back end of Ford Laser.

The risks are blah blah blah........ The real risk is that you will in fact end up in a situation you cannot handle for your level of real world experience.
I know and understand that we all develop at different rates and some are far more capable than others. But like has been said before, the law must cater for the lowest common denominator. That means the 18YO Gino who just bought a clapped out R1 with bald tyres and a chain thats ready to snap, who is headed for Chapel street to pull fully sik monos mate.

It sucks arse, but we have to protect that guy from himself.
