Ninja 250R service costs - kawasaki authorised dealer

Postby IAMSLO » Sat Jun 19, 2010 10:56 pm

Hi everyone

I'm new to bikes and do not know much about the mechanical side and running costs. I have the new ninja 250R and have recently paid $250 for the first 1,000km service and $315 for the 6,000km service. are these prices correct? and does anyone know what i should expect to pay for the 12,000km and 18,000km services? Thanks.

welcome!! :kuda:
yeah prob bit exy on the 6000k its a minor service, from memory i paid 270. the 12000k service is the major where they check valve clearances. and from memory was around $500, but i needed new tyre so was $750. 18000k should be same as 6000k as its a minor service.
every 12000k is major service the others are minor services

not sure on valvle clearances on ther 250's, but the 600's and 1000's get the valve clearances done for the 1st time at 24,000km.

Yeah that does sound a bit expensive. :?

I booked mine in for 12000 service (valve clearance) for next week and got quoted between 300-500 plus parts. That is a major service. I dont know the exact cost but I'll post how it goes and how much.

Both services seem expensive, i recently had the 1000KM service from TeamMoto in Bown Hills for $155

Hope that this helps.

Cheers

Thanks for the replies everyone . but whoa man sounds like what I'm getting charged is way expensive, anyone got any recommendations for places to get log book services. I live in NSW around the liverpool area and currently getting services at Parramatta, so anywhere near these regions would be great.

You could try Kelens at Penrith. 02 47214439.
If it is just standard servicing they should be able to quote you over the phone.
