Depends on whether your friend wants the bike for long term or just to learn on to get his/her licence.

My flat mate bought one to learn on and get his licence, not a bad bike for for the price and the looks (his was black with red), nothing mechanical went wrong with it at all except for the horn which didn't work at all but was replaced the headlight blew as well but was replaced, the seat faded very quickly from him riding/sitting on it too, the gear lever did stick for a while from 1st to 2nd but eased up as the km's went up.

For the price it's very good for someone getting into bikes and learning and thats about it, top speed for him was 118 and no more, it's a learner bike and that's about it really.

For a single cylinder it's not a bad bike and being air cooled didn't produce a problem either, it's a very good cheap learner alternate bike to most of the popular ones. Most people are not familiar with it so they don't go near it.

My mate paid $5700 ride away, got 200 off because the colour he wanted wasn't there, had a win with the salesman :kuda:
but I think they retail for around $6000 all inclusive onroad costs thats the sports model the naked is cheaper still

4.5K for nekkid and 5K for faired one..
and thats w/out on road costs so prolly not far off 6K by the time ya done?

surely a slightly used kwacka can be had for that eh? shouldn't be hard to find some late model ZZR's or even a ninja 250 in that price range??

edit: beat me to it by a cpl mins :) still think thats a bit much IMO..
