Decided to HTFU

Postby kevindinho » Fri Feb 05, 2010 10:02 pm

Howdy!

SO today i decided to HTFU as the old wise ones of this forum would like to say...i rode in a absolute down pour this arvo on pennant hills road, did some spliting as well. Managed to completely soak my beloved alpine stars and gloves and my jeans (dw guys i wiped it dry after). As crazy as it would sound I actually enjoyed the experience. God i love my little kawasaki, its not the prettiest and not the fastest but i absolutely love that little thing to bits. Stay upright people! and let the good times roll :kuda: :kuda:

Cheers
Kev

well done mate - the best way to get confident when riding in the rain - is to ride in the rain !! There is no other way around it.

On Wednesday night after learning that my stepdad had a "ministroke" and was admited to St Vincents hospital, I jumped on the bike and rode down to see him. On the way down on the F3 had an incident with a truckie on the mobile phone who decided to change lanes first, look later and wipe me out as a consequence
Thanks goodness there was an inside lane which was blocked off by witches hats, so i could still use the lane to escape into. As I was passing the bastard I did some movements of the arms which I was hopping got my message to him in no uncertain terms.. ;)
After my visit with Michael for about two hours in the emergency section, i jumped back on the bike and started my trip back home. As it was a warm summer night I had draggins, boots, KSRC t-shirt :D and a summer jacket with it's lining under the rear seat. As I was entering the harbour tunnel and I was just thinking about how it's not a bad night to be riding. There was a bit of a sprinkle, but notting to be concerned about, till I got to the other side... well, it was like as if you were standing in your shower and fully turned it on. I managed to get to the left hand lane and pull over under a bridge for about 10 minutes, at which time the rain eased and i thought it was Ok to continue. About 5 minutes up the road it started and it kept on pouring almost all the way home.
It was HTFU time
I was laughing out loud under the clear wisor and twisted it a bit harder, it was a fun ride, got home about 11.45pm had a nice warm shower.

Next day done it again in the car with Joy, Michael is OK, they have done all the tests and he was sent home last night. :D

Glad to hear both you and Michael are ok kaneg, it gets pretty dangerous when it rains...have to watch out not just the cages but also the crazy ass weather lately. :kuda: Funny thing is that i laughed out loud when i was riding in the down pour as well and actually found it fun.
