Bestest, longest and fastest ride yet!!

Postby Megsnitro » Tue Jan 26, 2010 1:21 pm

Ok so I ventured out onto some busier roads than usual today and it was FANTASTIC!! I was remembering most everything much more easily (still working on turning my indicators off) and was really concentrating on being on the right part of the road around corners which probably saved me today as a 4wd came around a bend speeding on the wrong side of the road as I came into the corner - I now totally get how important it is to be not only thinking of what I am doing but what others could do.

At one stage I thought I was going a bit fast - yep doing 70km... lol OH shut up I'm a beginner! But felt relaxed riding the whole time and pretty happy with myself. I did catch up to a scooter...again shut up if your laughing at me.... it felt good to ride near someone else even if it was someone in thongs and a singlet

I got nodded at by another ninja rider - felt so good! Oh well I'm back out to practice slow work and hill starts!

How are all the other newbies doing?

Good on you Megsnitro!

Great to hear you're practicing your technique and keeping your mind tuned into the important stuff like road position etc, keep it up. :kuda:

Good stuff mate, good your getting out there practising.

You have to keep your eye on those pesky cage drivers, they don't know what side of the road is theirs, also watch out for cyclists they think the road is one big cycle lane

And yeah the scooter thing was funny

It's so good to hear of learning stories and that you are enjoying learning..

Practice .. Practice.... practice... as they say ..

But the most important thing to do is to relax... ;o)
