Congrats! It feels great, but also a bit scary doesn't it!
Just take it easy and you'll be fine!

Thanks everyone - I have no plans on going anywhere near traffic yet! I have lots to remember and lots to learn but I am SO excited :D
Plans for the next few weeks are sticking to the back streets close to home.

Congratulations and well done - welcome aboard too :D

Get out there and get some experience - take it slow and steady, you'll do fine.
I don't like the term insane - I prefer mentally hilarious!

Congrats on getting your L's, you're going to love it. :kuda:
Once you get your confidence up to ride in traffic you should hook up with some of the Newcastle members, there was a thread on here somewhere.

What Six Addict said.
You may as well scrap any other hobbies/interests you have and ditch most of your friends who don't have bikes now, just to save time.

Well I went for my first road ride & all went well. Nice & slow. I had to laugh at myself though, was so focused on everything I was taught I was lost when the little kids at the park started waving. I kind of flapped my elbow at them, didn't even think of nodding

Ahaha classic........... "the elbow flap" wave

Just wait until another biker nods at you starting thinking "was he nodding at me..... oh, he was saying hello" and you realise you didn't nod back ;)
