Welcome and a good choice of bike.
You'll find it easy to learn on.

I have only been riding for a few weeks but I ride to work in traffic every day which makes you learn pretty quickly.
The comment above about looking where you want to go will help you heaps. At first I would often repeat to myself "you look there, you go there"

Just get out there as much as you can and always assume that the cagers can't see you and always be aware of what is around and behind you.

Welcome mate. Did you get the point about a "high rev" and feathering the clutch in your pre-learners course? I managed to practice it a fair bit on my course and found it really helpful at low speed. The gyroscopic motion of the engine holds the bike upright, clutch controls thrust, then control speed with the rear brake. It helps a lot with stability, and our instructor said that as a learner yo boost your practical riding ability by 30% if you can perfect it. Another piece of wisdom he gave us that hit home for me was to go out to an industrial estate and practice all the stuff you did in the course while it's still fresh in your head.

There's no pics, so i definitely didn't drop my bike getting it off the center stand before I ever rode it. :P

How's the leg going?

Awesome bike!

You'll be able to have lots of fun on that.
Just for starters, on the next group ride. Get ahead of everyone and sit in the bushes on the side of the road. Then have a laugh at the faces and feverish braking of the group as you come into sight =D (The old Vics will know how much fun that is).

Oh and don't let anyone (i.e. Groggles) tell you it's 'Champagne' coloured, it's fuggen gold!
