My First Ride... (Illegally)

Postby MrsWasabi » Sun Nov 02, 2008 4:25 pm

Well I went for a few laps today, in first only on Owen's (MrWasabi) bike... Went to a empty car park that is huge! Was doing really well too. Found the stopping something that I have to get used to.

It also looks like I will be buying Owen's bike after all :( After I dropped it today and snapped the brake leaver and bent the gear shifter! Whoops... Sorry babe :)

I was getting cocky and tried to go faster!!! Tried to get to 2nd gear but put the throttle on a bit too much, I broke suddenly with the front brake and before I knew it the bike was leaning too far for me to catch it! And down she came!

It's alright babe, you can have the gear shifter off my bike when I get it :) lol

So next weekend MrWasabi???

It's only lillegal if you get caught :D And good move finding a big spare empty carpark to practise in, much safer than on the road.

:x :x

it was the clutch lever not the brake. for starters...and like the saying goes...you break it you buy it.

guess i will be getting my 600 after all :D

seriously tho she is a good student when she isnt too busy looking to see what others are doing and not listening to me...

from not being able to take off to being able to keep it up right (for the most part) and turning just after a few minutes i was impressed.

I tought her so well that she is scraping gear levers, im still only up to the side stand :D

It's a bit of a bugger that you tipped it over, but hey, at least you'll get a Kwaka now instead of some POS Honda :D

I keep telling MrWasabi to drop it a bit more so I can touch the ground properly so really it's his fault :)

I did the same kinda thing on my mates bike before I went for my L's but in his front yard on the grass. It's harder because of the bumpiness but no damage when it goes down (IME ;) ). But good work. More the merrier.

The slower you're going the easier it is to fall over. Once you're under way at 60 or 80 km/h you have to try really hard to fall over. Seriously.

Yeah I know... That's what's O tells me all the time. It's just nerve racking when you haven't done that before. Plus I didn't have the gear on! Yes, yes, stupid me!

No 1 son has a bike waiting in the garage, and goes for his Ls in 2 weeks. But... he's got the gear after years as a pillion. Still just a teensy bit worried, but then again, nothing beats riding. I'll shout him a day on the 'track ASAP.

well done Mrs W. it always better to crash someone else bike instead of your own.

and you dont need to learn how to use the brakes they only slow you down!!!!!isnt that right Mr W.
