Hi all new member in Adelaide

Mon Apr 27, 2015 7:32 am

Hi guys. Just purchased a 1990 ZZR1100 C1 with 61000 ks on the clock. Good original condition. I also own an 85 GSXR 750 Slabby and an 81 750 Katana. My missus rides a 2001 ZZR 600.The 1100 rides and runs great. Needs a new chain and sprockets. Also has a leak from the left front brake caliper. Possible seal? Anyway was wondering if there is a link somewhere to download a service manual I can get. Cheers Grant

And a bloody good idea that was too!
I don't have one for the ZZR1100C but you can download the D model manual HERE. Might be good for some bed-time reading. Oh and just so the missus doesn't get bored while you are, ZZR600D and ZZR600E Supplement.

Leaky caliper might be a good excuse to flick them and go with some newer generation 4 or 6 potters. Braking was never a strong suit for the mighty ZZR.

All Cs and Ds had 4-pots. But if you get the correct new brakes (there is a list of bikes that have compatible brakes) they can be made to fit. Apparently the Nissin 4 pots are better than the Tockico 6-pots I went for, but I like the look of them and they were for sale complete with the sleeves and bolts etc that I needed for not a lot of money...

So fitted new chain and sprockets. Had a ride over the weekend. Forks and shock all leaking. Stripped the bike down. Forks and shock being rebuilt.Cleaning everything up under the fairings and seat. Painted all the seat brackets and undertray plastics. New air filter on order. Flushed the coolant out. Start putting it all back together soon.

G'day and welcome mate.

Nice little Suzuki history collection you've got going. I had an 86 GSXR 1100 slabby for years. I loved that bike and still regret selling it. :(

Love my old Suzukis Glen. Will never get rid of them. They're a bit of a money pit though lol
