Quick Intro

Postby clumsy » Thu Apr 05, 2012 1:54 pm

Hello everyone, as per title here is a quick inrtoduction. My name is Leigh and I have just picked up a Red ZX7R. Its my first big bike after doing my L's on a ZZR250 and then getting a Yamaha RD250LC with 350 conversion while on my P's. Have not ridden for a while, got knocked of my RD, so it has been good to get back on the horse. Picked up the 7R for a good price and have done some work on putting a licence plate lamp on it and putting a little fender back on it with a reflector so at least I am sort of legal. Anyway will be taking it nice and easy while getting used to riding again. Thanks for reading.

Hi again, thanks for the replies. I have tried posting a link for a photo below. Have not done this picture uploading thing before so see how it goes.
I am in the central area of Adelaide near the hills. The main reason for joining up is to get some help on the technical side of things with the bike and access to the workshop manual. The bikes wiring has been a bit butchered, maybe was someones track bike at some stage in its life, anyway looking to eventually get it cleaned up so its similar to how it was when it left the factory. I had a friend, who has been riding a long time, test ride the bike for me and was happy that it had no major frame damage or twists. It has a full exhaust on her and my mate suspects it has been tuned to suit as it has no flat spots or stutters through the rev range. Just feels pretty quick to me at the moment. Love to know what a small car engine would feel like in a bike, as in a ZX14R, as I am a pretty big bloke. Any way this should be a good cheap start to get used to riding again. Cheers.

Yep, 7's are a damn fine bike, and I'm not letting the fact that I own one influence my opinion what so ever. ;-)
