picked up my sexy black '11 z1000 about 2 weeks ago.....done 1200klm's now, & loving this bike
Stepped up from a Honda VTR1000F.....a beaut bike....travelled 70,000klm's troublefree in about 3 years...so the Z1000 had big boots to fill

A few mods happening as we speak.....new Puig screen, rad guard, fender eliminator, heated grips for our cold winter rides, Navman, Tinted headlight cover, Ventura rack , K & N filter, PCV, full 4 into 1 Akrapovic system.....will post more pics once complete.

The local Kawasaki dealership wanted $280AUD for the first service....WTF.....needless to say, hubby did it for me What are you guys paying for a first service ?...curious .

Welcome to KSRC Natty , ummm is your hubby a mechanic? & did he stamp your book for warranty?
First service I would go to the original dealer (in case there are any issues) & then use my own mechanic after that.

Welcome and nice ride. I think $280 is a bit steep for the first service since they don't even change the oil, but just check everything over and make sure nothing has come loose. We had them change the oil and filter on my wife's ZX10's first service last year and it was still cheaper than that from our local Kawasaki dealer. Where in NSW are you?
