So .. 1) you start a thread ( hoping for some informed replies )
2) some members will post relevant replies
3) some members will take the piss
4) some members will go off at a tangent, derailing your thread temporarily
5) some members will totally hijack your thread, taking it to a place you had not contemplated
6) within the above, you may end up with some info you can use
