New to forum and bikes!

Postby jockey123 » Wed May 06, 2009 1:34 pm

Hi al!

Names jockey, I am starting to get into bikes and so far loving it!

I recently just bought a 94 GPX250 for my first bike to learn on and am very happy with it!!

I am currently living in WA, South of the city, so if anyone wants to go riding hit me up!

Im currently on my learners but am hoping to get my licence in the coming weeks!? So the more practice I can could with a experienced rider is always a bonus!

Any tips for my test would be great!!

Cheers

Jockey

Welcome Jockey , we need a few more WA members .
Few others who should say hi soon enough .

Tips for licence ;
> Practice fig 8's in an empty carpark or similar (you must complete either a fig 8 or U turn in the width of a single lane without putting a foot down , running off the edge of the 'road' or dropping the bike.
> Emergency braking test is 50km to 0 in less than 11M without locking either wheel.
> Always indicate plus look over shoulder when changing lanes >>> even if changing from left to right side of your lane etc
> REMAIN IN WHEEL TRACKS on the road ie where the average vehicle tyre would sit .

I'm a learner too, but off for my p's tomorrow. :) From what I've been told, apart from the general correct road riding habits, low speed riding skills will make the test a breeze so spend some time on that.

Thanks everyone!

Yeah I have to work on doing my figure of 8's! I started doing them with my GPx (before I was using the learning school bike and it was easy as!) and find it alot harder to get use to!
