Native Okie and have survived 57 years, how I don't know. Been riding some kind of motorcycle for 43 years. Got hooked on the big Kawasaki bikes in 74 when I switched from Honda "CB 450" to the "900 Z1".
My ZRX is a green 1999 and has never failed me. She has 43,000 miles now but still runs like new. Been temporarily working 6 days a week for the last two years so riding has suffered. May have to retire again. Had an engine miss a few weeks ago and thought it was a valve. Turned out to be dirty carbs, the mechanic compression tested each cylinder and found that she had 190 psi to the pound on each cylinder. I use Royal Purple 20/50 year round and make sure she is upright when being warmed up.
I spend a lot of time riding in Arkansas. They have great roads with lots of twisties. I could care less about going fast in a straight line but move aside in the twisties. I try to take a long trip every other year. In 05 went west and rode 3503 miles in 8 days with a friend. In 07 went west to Oregon and rode 5843 miles in 13 days, alone. Not any kind of record, but not bad for an old man with a stock seat.
Except for a good woman, there is nothing like riding and feeling free, well, at least the ZRX does not talk back, but does spend my money so it may be a tie. I will never stop riding until the grim reaper takes my soul. If given the ability to pick a way to die it would be either, "cum and see God at the same time" or "die in the saddle with the taste of bugs in my mouth".
I have added a link to a few photos. Peace to all and may you never feel the road anywhere but on your tires.
