Well almost.... you also need to fill in a Registration Transfer form at the RTA (3-4 pages). Questions include, your personal details, how much you paid for the bike, did you get it from a dealer or private seller, you will need the rego papers or a letter/receipt from the previous owner if you don't get the rego papers off him, but really you would have to second guess the purchase if he hasn't got the Rego papers to give you.....

You, and the seller need to fill out the back of the rego papers and list a sale price... The less you put down as a purchase price, the less you will pay to Transfer the Rego into your name

Alrighty, went and looked at the bike today, no signs that the bike had been crashed, and it rode pretty smooth all the way home.
I am in need of a new rear tail light cover though, as the old one fell off the other day (shouldnt be too hard id imagine).
And everything else on the bike are in very good condition except for the horn (doesnt seem to work, will have to check over it(also shouldnt be too hard)).

He did have the rego papers and we both signed them, he also wrote me out a Sale Receipt for the bike and put down the sale price as $500- which is quite less than what i paid.

So all in all, quite an exciting time for myself, now for the wait till i get my licence in 2 weeks time.

In the meantime, is there anything else I can do to get the bike tip top? The rims are a little dirty and dont look the best, so i was thinking of maybe painting them white? (Although they will probably get fairly dirty), but would look awesome with the blue that its painted.

Ok. Not long till I go for my licence
I had a bit of a play with the horn to see if I could get it working...
I checked the connections, didn't work;
Took the horn out and tested it on my car battery, worked! ;
Put it back on bike and checked to see if I had power coming from positive wire, I had power but the light was on the whole time... not just when I pushed the horn button...?

So before I take it to an auto electrician, does anyone else know why my horn might not be working?

Where would I find the relays for the electrics and fuses etc?

WELCOME SAM, probably the best thing you could do for yourself is to buy / obtain a workshop manual for your bike ...it will help you identify everything on your bike & help you to understand and maintain it.
it will pay for itself 10 times over.

Do *NOT* paint the rims white. They get filthy very very quickly and it's extremely hard keeping them looking good if you ride regularly. You'll spend a lot of time cleaning them, and/or a lot of time looking at them wishing they didn't look so grubby.

Unlike my car, I've decided I'm not going to spend alot (or any) money on upgrades or mods for this bike.
As it's just a learner bike and not worth much, there's not much point if I'm going to upgrade oneday.
And I can just imagine how dirty the white rims would get..
