What are the differences in L1 and M1 engines ?

Thu Nov 26, 2015 5:26 am

Hello, I have a 93 zxr750r with blown engine, I wanted to put L1 engine on it but I would like to know if it Will fit without any problems and what are the differences between these two engines besides close ratio gearbox in the M1, is there any other difference in cylinder head, pistons and so on?

Will I be able to put close ratio gearbox from the blown engine into L engine ?

Another thing, would a complete engine from 1991 K1 model fit into M1 frame without problems, has anyone done that?

Thanx for help, regards Jay

L and M engines are exactly the same other than the close ration box in the M. The close ratio box will fit straight into the L engine too.
