USD Forks

Postby ZX9R Man » Mon Feb 23, 2015 5:36 pm

Why did Kawasaki move away from upside down forks from the B series to traditional forks on the later models ?
Pros/cons..
I have no idea.
All I know is that my B1 model was rock solid in the front. ( Rear end left alot to be desired..) and never had any issues with seals leaking or otherwise.
I haven't ridden my current bike as I purchased it unregistered, and is currently in storage until such time...
So I don't know. Anyone any ideas ?

Also weight, I suspect.
07 ZX10R track 09 ZX6R road/track 93 ZXR750 race 89 GPZ900 project
Do not walk behind me, for I may not be leading
Do not walk in front of me, for I may not be following
Do not walk alongside me, for the path may be narrow
Just piss off and leave me alone

Both valid reasons I guess. My current bike did shed alot of weight from the B1.
215Kg Vs 183Kg Dry. Not bad considering it's still a bulky looking bike.
If the newer, cheaper, lighter shocks do the trick then I'm happy with that. What's the point in trying to modify for no real gains. I prefer to just keep it stock. No plans to go racing.
