Would anybody know where I could source a left hand fairing decal for a L2, the big pink one on the front side. The young bloke dropped it in gear while idling on the side stand, I can get it welded and painted in New Zealand, but they can't get the decal.

I'd have to say original Kawasaki is probably a no but if you're looking for reproduction there are a few places that do kits but not sure about your colours.
Try,..

I have the exact same bike and had a spare fairing that I gave to Motographix in Sydney. They reproduced the decals for my whole bike for a few hundred bucks. They have my design so they will definitely help you out.

Thanks for that, I had the fairings repaired and painted in NZ. He painted the decal on, you can't distinguish it from the real thing, a bit spendy though.

Factory decals are very expensive, but if you had the inclination and were available then its the best thing.
Good to hear you got it sorted though.

Just another thing to add. Just thought of it now, re reading this. I have had some experience with cosmetic restoration and in my time I would always purchase the decals from the dealer and grit my teeth and bear it, Why ? because the factory decals just ooooze quality and they last a life time. They have excellent adhesion and will Never peel. Not sure what they are made of exactly but I can certainly vouch for OEM decals even if prices are ridiculous.

Now, those reproduction decals, can anyone offer some professional advice on what material is used to reproduce the original items ?
I'm keen to know. I recall peeling back an OEM decal and it had a grey sticky surface..
