97 ZX9R brake squeal gone

Hiya guys. I've had consistent squeal from the front pads of my 97zxr since I bought it. Pads are fine, plenty of meat, but I thought they were just a noisy sintered metal variety. Today I think I solved it after remembering something from the "net". When it was raining I never had noise from the pads. I recollected advice from somewhere about the floating disc being lubricated at the rivets, so today while lubricating the chain, I gently sprayed a little chain lube into each rivet of both discs. Guess what happened. No more squeal or noise when braking anymore. I was very careful not to get any onto the disc of course, or it might not go well. Has anyone else had to do this or tried the same method?

never heard of this method before Lenny - but heh if it works then well and good. Normally brake squeal can be traced back to dirty pistons pushing on pads with no lube or really dirty disc rotors etc.
