ram air tubes

Hi all justa quick one in regards to the ram tubes on a zxr750j1.

I know they are just for show and was wondering if the r model had a real ram air set up going on with a factory alloy tank and all.

Well after getting myself a alloy tank and realizing the holes in the tank are blanked off it got me thinking, is it/ has anyone ever done a fuel tank and air box mod
to actually get the benifits of the ram air mock up on these bikes??

The steel tank hole pipes running right through it , why not the alloy factory kit tank??

It looks and seems a very straight forward mod really!!

Did the actual race bikes of this era have a full ram air set up?? If you look at the gixers/fzrs of this era they all sport a similar set up.

Surly they all cant of been for show and did actually run ram air for real??

I'm after any info pros and cons ( i'm pretty sure i know the pros) of moding my bike to actually run ram air, and any info on the actual mod if it has been done previously.

Or did they just run pod filters on the bikes- or straight venturi stacks??
