as per the title.
will a 1999 zx9r shock swap directly to a 1998 zx7r?
the shock from the zx9r is ohlins. Im not getting the price I want
for the road bike, so i figure i may as well return it to stock and sell it alot cheaper.
At the same time I could help the handling of my track bike.
will it fit? and yes i play on seeing zeno sometime soon anyway.

The spring is a little different, the valving too - lengthwise you'll be wanting max (expose groove and no more) and maybe some spacing under the frame too (about 5mm).

What I cannot think of at this time of day is whether the ressy will fit all snug or not - check visually your self on that.

if it wobbles or is loose, then it will want proper converting for 7R specs; but should it work? Yeah, it should be reasonable and function enough for you to not be in too much danger... (well, I spent 5 minutes comparing the official settings in my head and that is what I have come up with anyhow ;) )

So, to re-iterate: 10% here on comp. & 15% there on rebound and a different spring + the length deficit and possibly some orientation of the canister issues (frame/undertail interface?); but that last point will clinch it I should imagine, so go forth and find out hey!

well it sounds like i should just bring it to you. The zx7r needs new seals and oil in the forks and ksrc and ALL of NSW RATS sing your praises so i guess ill bring it out to you eventually.
Out of interest, will the ohlins from the zx9r be the same length as the stock zx9r shock?
Im asking because im returning the zx9r to stock before i sell it at a reduced price.
thanks for the help

Hmm, a KA803-x should be 0-12mm over stock, so yeah, should be same length or longer...
