1/8th mile set up

In a few months going to be giving my 03 zxr636 a run over the 1/8th.

I have ordered adjustable linkages to lower the rear of the bike and also straps for the front.

My current gearing is 15F and 42R. I cant seem to be able to get a consistent answer on the net as to what it should be standard. Can someone confirm if mine is standard. My speedo reads correct. Top speed give or take is 275-280kmh.

From information I have found optimum gearing is -1F and +5R from standard and there's no need to change the chain length. Just need standard size's confirmed.

My bike at the moment is very docile of the mark and being a dirt biker all my life I find my self using the clutch quite often but it's not good for the bike lol so gearing is a must.

Bike has been on the dyno but won't have the finance's for a while for a power commander to fix the AFR to gain the most from the engine.

Bike is running a K&N filter and was in it when on the dyno. Compared to a standard paper filter the area for air to flow through is noticably smaller. Going to go back to a standard paper filter and this should also help (not fix) the rich
AFR's shown on the dyno.

I have raced almost everything I have owned at the 1/8th including my dirt bike (ran an impressive 8.47 with exhaust and jetting ) but also love corner's and the bike will also end up going to track day's so don't want to make any major modifications.

This is where I'm up to at the moment with my thought's etc.

Just after every one else's thought's on the direction I am heading and any other thought's which may help.

It's at an airstrip which is not a permanent track which only allows through ANDRA to run 1/8th mile Drag racing. If it was a permanent fixed track then could run 1/4.

Will probably end up getting down to WSID at a later stage and give it a run down the 1/4 but I will always try my best to support my more local event's first. Local is 180km to get there WSID is near 300km to get there lol

Went and ordered new sprocket's today and by the book standard sprocket's are listed as 15F and 40R so I ordered a 14F and 45R.

Sometime or another my bike has had the rear changed to a 42 and also the speedo recalibrated.
