The pic. shows stage 2. Frame stripped ready to get the paint removed.

Stage 1 was avisit to Laurie Alderton to sort the frame out.

Next is to remove the paint & a respray in black.......Calling Gazza :)
On that note can anyone tell me if I can get a matt black in 2 pak?
If no what are my options?

The rest of it is around the corner in the "annex", where he does all his 'best' work, and might I add, where the rest of the bike belongs!!!

It's the road bike Wattie....

Russ the reason for the stripdown is that I had to get the frame straightened so while it's stripped I may as well do it right.

Update

Just got them back from the Soda blasting, the finish is smooth ready for paint once the powder is washed off.
And the broken bolts from the side stand bracket are removed.

Was there a reason other than you liked the look, which determined Matt Black as the colour choice? The reason I ask, is that Matt Black, pretty much regardless of finish, to me always ends up looking shitty really quickly.

Have you given any thought to a satin finish rather than a complete Matt finish? (Matt Finish were a fantastic 70's/80's band too!! )

I did think about satin finish but have not seen an example so decided to stay with matt.
I wanted matt black to contrast the gloss black that the bodywork will be painted.
I might try & find an example & decide then.

Thanks for your 5 cents Strika, you got me thinking now.

I painted one of my race frames from my 1995 ZX6 in satin black and it really did look PFG from what people said. I wanted that flat look, without the hassles matt brings in keeping it looking good and satin worked well. :)
