Good question.... why the hell hasnt he embraced the new technology??

Oh, thats right. He's still hanging on to the past.

Someone should tell him that bikes have advanced along with internet based forums...

Varies between about 180-220/230 before res just depends if its mainly hwy running or hard riding through the mtns.

Changing to reserve can be a bit of a bitch while you are on a hwy  .

I've been caught out where its cut out then i switched it to reserve and wouldn't start so had to clutch start it.

i have big hands and they are bigfger with gloves on, so it doesn't work when i try to switch the fuel tap when i'm riding.

I have to pull over.

maybe you could look at getting a zx9r instead...

on a recent ride up north to walcha via some great roads - putty, bucketts way and thunderbolts way.. i filled up at singleton and got to walcha and that was after cruising along thru the bends at 160-180 for say 50k's, for a total of almost 290km, and i was going two up too... 8) :supz:

i got to around 260 before switching over to reserve, so i reckon i could have gotten up to 330-350 if i'd been riding at a more relaxed pace..

I just got the bike 3 months ago and getting the hang of riding as i'm still new to riding.

Until i feel very confident on the 7 i dont think i'll be looking at anything for a while.

Prior to the 24K service I was getting ~220Kms before reserve.

I am now getting ~250kms before reserve.

Mind you, it's all very sedate mileage - freeway runs all the way, usually cruising @ 5500 - 6000 for 50Km
Ain't nuthin to see here..... move along

Just ran my ZX7R to reserve & got 280  :D
That's a run to the OPH from BP Nortwest then to Wismens on to Windsor
& one run into work & back on the M4.
And yes it needs rejetting so don't know what it will be after that. :?

As you all know... i bought Mina's bike....

I have never put it on reserve. I usually start looking for somewhere to fuel up around the 200k's mark...

My old ZZR250 would see 300k's before I would need to switch over to reserve, then I would get another 80 or so k's out of her.... I miss that milage....

I'm concerned because since getting mine ive only done barely 340km (havnt touched the trip meter since i picked it up) it had a full tank on pickup.. road it around and at 250km i filled up.. at 300km (after 30km ride) it was back in the shop to get fork seals done, i picked it up a week later with 301 on the trip meter, took off.. got 2-3km away and it cut out.. fuel was Below reserve, bone dry! i had not even passed a servo to have the opportunity to fill it so i was going to break down one way or another..
i call the shop, got it towed back and looked at where they just shrugged their shoulders as to why it would be so low on fuel after i just filled it,they put some more in it and sent me on my way again

So now im obssessive compulstive with checking the tank, i rode home and its still in the garage with 330-340ish on the trip meter and still very much full so i doubt i have a leak but I would love to know where all my petrol went last week.

That happen to me once. Put it in to be resprayed on the tank and the d!ckheads gave it back to me with NO fuel in it, even though she went down with half a tank... Guess they forgot to put fuel back in it....

I got 2 k's down the road, with a servo insight and she died.... Wouldn't have been a problem but the servo that was in sight was up a hill and I only have boney girl arms, and that bike is fuggen heavy....

Shop received a very nasty phone call that afternoon. Not that I think he cared....
