Just curious to get a idea of the average or normal running temp of the zx9's.
I have a 2000 model (89000k's)and she always runs cool on average 65/69. Have a mate who recently bought a 2002 f1 with only (20000k's) after doin a 2300k ride on wknd and swappin bikes couldnt help noticing the average temp for his 9 was 84/85 which is a big difference between the two. Any info be great thx

I would have thought the 80 degree temperature to be quite normal, mine has a bar graph so I have no idea of the actual temperature. On the ZRX I have a daytona guage and it hovers around the mid to high eightees.

65-69 seems a bit low to me. 80 sounds about right.

I own a 2000 ZX9R. Only seen it hit 80s a couple of times. Once at the gold coast during indy whist sitting on the spot in traffic on a hot day and a couple of times doing burnouts at a recent meet. On average she sits on about 60 to 70. Never have i noticed hit 80 during normal riding. I have 2 mates in northern NSW with the same model and they have said the same about temps. I did know a guy that had a 2001 9 and his ran at around 85 to 90. However he had an oil pressure problem. I dont if it is true or not but i was told by a motorcycle mechanic (i am a heavy mechanic) that the thermo fan on my model dont kick in till 100. I never bothered lookin into it.
