Hi just thought i would ask the question. Wondering what sort of low cost performance mods are possible for DIY. My only mod so far is a K&N Filter. Everything else is as stock as it came performance wise. Is there any exhaust restrictors in the muffler or anything like that? The baffle type thing in the muffler is it possible for removal without it sounding like a tin can?
Cheers

hi dan, you probably could gut the internals of the stock can, but i'm not sure how much you would gain... otherwise aftermarket is they way to go but its obvious you're trying to avoid that... and then if u want real gians u should re-jet the bike as i think there would be a few ponies to be had even from just rejetting the bike with the stock can on it...
one thing to do would be to drop 1 tooth on the front sprocket or go up one or two at the rear... this would help with faster accelaration...
ive just purchased an 01 model so i'm sure i'll be tinkering with a few things over the next little while...
