Converting to a keyless ignition

Postby dave#3 » Fri May 30, 2008 7:31 pm

'The Mutant' has a veritable shitload of wiring left on it - I'm stripping out what I don't need (more to save hassle troubleshooting things in the future than to save weight or space). After seeing Matt's new tracky with the keyless ignition I got to thinking and decided I wanted to do it to mine too (if for no other reason that 'cause it looks cool :)).

Anyone done this? Any hints? I'm pretty good with electrickery, so I can probably work it out, but if you've done it I'd be happy to learn from your mistakes :)

BTW, for those that don't know, 'the Mutant' is a 95 (L3) zxr750 with a B series zx9r engine in it.

Also, do you need a traditional kill switch to race in NE2? If not, I can probably do away with the right-hand switch block as well as the left.

No dave, but would suggest a lanyard cut off

yep, you need a switch and a button... :-)

Thats the best I can do atm... We rewired mine that many times you'd think I'd remember every single strand... I do, but only in my nightmares..
Franks 9 has been stripped, have at look at that for ideas... it'll be at the creek tomorrow.. and then at my place, again...
