Postby h8_rice » Thu Apr 24, 2008 1:06 pm

Well I have been doing my research (in the short amount of time I had)
And think I picked up a great bike

Image
1995 zx9r
44,000ks
Full service history from the dealers till a few weeks ago.
2 brandnew tires
6months rego

$5000
Goes like stink, such a nice smooth bike.
I fucking cracked the shit out of the muddy cause I left the disc lock on and pulled it back to get it out from under the house. (I never use them !! so I Forgot lol) dumbass,

A short piece of rubber tube is the answer to that ;-)

When the disk lock is on....... the rubber tube fits on the ignition key
When the disk lock is off......the rubber tube fits over the disk lock key...........serves 2 purposes
1. You cannot forget the disk lock because the rubber tube stops the key going in to the ignition
2. The rubber tube stops the disk lock key from scratching the top clamp ;-)
I don't suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it.

haha nah its a HUGE ass padlock that I could never get to fit anything important. fits perfectly on the rotor so you cant even get a hack saw in to chop it.

I have to get used to how much this thing weighs. I nearly dropped it pulling back into someones driveway, its such a freakin tank.
The guy at work reckons he can beat me on his 05 636, I wont totally dismiss this but has anyone got a rough idea, id assume with e.fi. etc it would be close if anything?
Im gonna baby it a bit more, pushed my luck a bit too much tonight! I almost go crosseyed taking off at full pelt on this thing its sooo gooood lol

2 piece leathers are generally the minimum.

well iv been digging around for leathers, if anyone knows somewhere good to shop (I hate dealers) that would help, I have to get the gf leathers eventually too.
And a stand so I can prop the back up and adjust the chain and do all sorts of fiddling with it.

cheers mate.
I'm gonna ride it around stock as a rock for as long as I can

but I am tempted to take the fairing off for 2 reasons.

1, cant smash them when I drop it (its inevitable!) if they arent on there.

2, I love streetfighters

I havnt decided yet if I want to leave this one alone and just get another project bike. something tells me with my history of combining a workcar/only transport, with a project car I'll be in all sorts of trouble again !!

MY forearms are actually sore from having to hang on to this thing haha. the 250 just gave me a sore ass (I swear it was the bike)
