HELP: removing zx9 font wheel

I know how to get it off but where can I get a 22mm inhex socket 1/2" drive.

I think you'll find one of the tools in the oem kit fits either end of the axle, it may be the plug spanner.

one end will fit the 22mm side the other will fit the smaller 17/18?mm side.

You may surprised at how loose it is. When i had to get mine off i didnt have the proper tool, so found something that fitted. It turned out to be the flat head of some dodgey old hammer i had in the tool box. It want very tight at all and did no damage to the nut. Whe3n i refitted if i tithgten it up toomuch it over loaded the bearing.

So have a look around the garage, you might just find something.

Otherwise try a tool shop, not bunnings, a propper tool shop and tell them what you want. They'll probably have smaller sizes in stock

Thanks, never even thought to look there. Now I've just got to find it. Don't think I've even opened it since the first day I bought the bike.

Checked a heap of shops, totaltools, snap on, repco, coventry, glenfords, and a few more, but no luck with a 1/2" drive, can get it in 3/4 but then need and adaptor which ends up being about $90. Will spend a couple more days on it and then if no luck will order from the UK.

I picked up a 22mm/ 1/2" socket from Mitre 10.

Probably the only shop I hadn't checked.

theres heaps of them on ebay...find a bit of 22mm hex pipe and cut it..lol

thats *exactly* how you do it. 22mm inhex sockets are in the same drawer as the hens teeth and the rocking horse shit....

On the 12, first time I did a wheel change, I had to weld a 17mm bolt through a piece of 1" waterpipe that was almost a metre long

For some reason the front axle nut on the 12's gets really tight...

i bought a hose fitting at bunnings from the $3 box (mine was stuffed)..then got home & saw the receipt and id been charged $14..then found the spare i had in the laundry..but im too lazy to take it back (and i openned it)...lol

Well, $3.50, an hour on the phone looking for one of the bastards, and a 45 minute drive each way to the only shop in town that had one.... Hell I didn't even know there was a Brooklyn in Melbourne...
