zxr 750 models

Rearsets are cheap enough on eBay and I just got front and rear braided lines from Hel for under $200.
A quick throttle is always useful; I have an R1 throttle tube in my garage somewhere that I used on my trackie which reduces throttle turn pretty well.
Chains and sprockets are cheapest on Superbikesupply.com and they deliver really quickly.

Had a closers look at the photos and it seems to be a plain roadie with fibreglass fairings;
- appears to have OEM brake lines front and rear
- still has OEM rearsets
Nothing wrong with any of that but I'd say it has a bit to do before you could call it a race bike but in the face of it looks good!

When I got started with the PCRA on my ZX9R, the only thing I did was change the fairing. I used the OEM rearsets, clipons, brake lines, chain and sprocket, suspension etc just to keep it plain and simple and cheap to begin with, although I did have the suspension overhauled before it hit the track which is a must with a bike that has 100,000kms under it's belt. Over time I have slowly replaced all of these components with more race friendly options, even made my own rear sets to save a few bucks and so I could get them at the height I wanted. So I finally picked up a zx7 P4.

She is a tad rough and rattley (cam chain probly) but is great to ride. Took her out to Wakefield on Friday for a spin. My first ride on the 7 and my first track day for nearly 3 years ... I am still rooted 2 days later.

The bike went really but I was getting absolutely nailed by the young blokes on the bigger and more modern kit on the straights. So to start hunting for bits, I think first stop is a quick action throttle, braided lines and change the gearing then we see how she goes.

looks good Rob - there were a few of the local CanberraRIDERS crew out at Wakefield on Friday - MStevo reckons it was pretty warm - 34deg plus and maybe 40+ track temp - and the old bugger nailed 90+ laps over the course of the day !!

Your 7 looks great mate, as others have said, just work on the important things first......suspension and better brakes. I love the ZX7R's and would like to have one myself one day.......you will love racing this thing

yep she was a tad warm but I really enjoyed the day, it was good to get through the day in one piece, my last ended in a somewhat painfull few days in goulburn base hospital, but thats a whole other story

Will get her to Laurie to get the suspenders sorted as a priority

Laurie has pulled the pin for the rest of this year mate - he has a few other things he wants to try so he has closed the shop. He may be back towards the end of the year or early 2014, not sure yet ?

Terry Hay is your best bet now for suspension work

bugger, he did the seals on the zx10 about a month ago, didnt say anything.
He was running around at wakefield last friday with that girder forked beastie, was gunna go chat but didnt get around to it.
