ZX7R Rear Brake reservoir observation

Sat Feb 22, 2014 4:18 pm

I just happened to be looking at the rear brake reservoir on my ZX7R and then glanced over to my Yami YZ450F and noticed how neat the dirt bike brake is all wrapped up in one little complete res/master cylinder unit. I then had a look at the spacing and length of the mounts and noticed that they aren't to dissimilar. They are different sized bolts but with spacers it might be a viable option for any race bike that wants to neaten up the rear brake. To be honest I'm not entirely sure of the size of the pistons or the inner workings of the M/C but if you not too concerned with using it that often then it might suffice.

It's just a thought. Here's some pics.

Here is the stock ZX7R rear MC......

haven't seen a complete swap, but i have seen the whole reservoir and tube to it replaced with a 2" piece of clear tube with a plug in the end. Just need to make sure the using is brake fluid friendly or you could have some problems.

Clear fuel line works a treat for the replacement reservoir but the fluid will need changing every 6 months
