taking the battery out of the 12 is the hardest thing that i have ever had to do... but as blue said remove the -ve lead and it just slides out..
it has a schedule appoint with race replica for a new battery this weekend... the cost is unknown still but the battery cost $70.00 only compared to the otyher place of close to $200.00

As far as loud pipes go, this is the loudest i've heard on a 12.
My dragbike when it was first put together, i'd take updated shots only its in pieces again.

Geez I cant wait to go for another ride, seems to spend more time apart than it does running. Need MORE

Mate I think I cut 11cm off it, but can remember looking at it going, this would have been easier if I'd cut 9cm off it..something to do with the mounting plate..
Im sure we can help ya out with it if you want..it is a bigger job than I first thought

Just a bit too loud

. Get an Akra or Yoshi

Ive got a full Yoshi system on my 12 and it doesnt seem too loud to me. I reckon the Megacycle slipons I had on a 93 Gsxr750 & '03 636 were much louder than a full Yoshi or Akra - or perhaps the different tone made them seem louder.

the system on the MFP12 is loud, not sure if its the *loudest* out there, but it sure as hell sounds good going into T1 at EC !!!!
Its a Yoshi RS3 that has been shortened a tad

( ie cut in half, from 500mm to 250mm), and internals modded to suit. The engine pipe is off Groggles old 12 ( originally on Big Kev's 12), and the 2-1 junction is right back near the last bend before the muffler. Header pipes are modified stockers, about 120mm shorter than stock under the sump, and each header pipe has a 'divider' welded into it that protrudes into the head about 5mm to help gas flow. It works.....
Here are a couple of photos.....
