2000 ZX-6R Radguard Fitting

Got the Radguard, all painted and looking good. Problem is now - it won't fit on the new OEM Radiator.
There are 2 tabs on the top of the radiator that interfere with the 2 retaining clips on the Radguard. I have no idea what the tabs are used for on the top of the Radiator. Are they used for fairing mounts? If not used, can I grind them off??

All fixed - Ground off the outer mounts (not used on this model) and Radguard now fitted.

Happy daze. All steps to resolve this issue were passed on to Rad Guard.
