Sounds nice. Be good to see it when you get it finished. What sort of times are you expecting

Hey,
cheers! That was with some dirty old stock carbs on it and a guess with some static ignition timing. Still, sounded good!
Hoping with a good spray of nitrous into it that it will run into the 7's at around 165mph.

Sam

Fark me.. times have changed.... ran a A comp bike in the early 80's, a 76 Z1000, kitted, 5grand spent on the head alone, all the gear, and most A comp bikes back then were only running 9s, at around 150 mph...

Hehe, I've ridden all classes in Australian drag bike racing there is. From 9 second mod bikes, 8 second comp bikes, 7 second pro stock bikes and 6.75@215mph Top Fuel Bikes. This comp bike will be a step back from the Fuel bike, but I am hopefull of a low eight or high seven once dialled in.

Goos stuff

top fuel back in the day were still way off the 200mph, was at willowbank many years ago when a good mate ran the 1st 200mph pass in australia, and was the 2nd man to break the 200mph, elmer trent ran a 203, before he died, dave ran a 207 on a nitro honda he built himself, burnt the motor on the pass, so never got to back it up in the required time, so record of the pass never stood.. bugger..

Yes - I know the bike, was quite a weapon! Must admit, didn't know he ran the first 200, thought it was Pommie Pete on either a Fat cat bike or a Bill Curry machine? Could have my records confused though.
215mph on a fuel bike is quite good fun. Here is a video of my 6.75:

Pretty sure dave was the 1st in australia?? they were talking about it, it was not long after elmer ran a 203 in the USA. but at the time it was the fastest pass in history... used to drag race with bill curry.. at suffers back in the day.. he had a big get off to.. went thru the timing lights at 140 mph ahead of his bike from memory?? took him a long time to recover.. took me many years to recover to

Gday mate, totaly awsome vids .How much spray are you going to throw into her?

Small world!! been out of it for many years now, wondered what happened to him after his big get off.
He would know for sure if dave mcclurg was the first to break 200mph in aust..
Run some names past him, will bring back some memories for him, barry taylor, twinkle taylor from phase four in brissy, john kries on his h2 kawaka, clock work orange. i think bill played around with a super charged Z1000 street bike back then to.

Maximus- at most, 150hp direct port will be going in.
Born green- I know all those names, been in the sport for 28 years! Yep, Bill started off with an incredibly tough street kwaka, been racing them ever since.
