What is the power difference?

Sun Feb 27, 2011 12:51 pm

Hey guys I have an 89 model ZX2R its in great condition feels very smooth and still has some great pull for a 250... Its in mint condition, but everyone I talk to keeps telling me its crap and I should look into buying a new ninja or god help me a stupid CBR... What I want to kno is what's the power difference?

Sure my bike doesn't look as sharp as the new ones but I like the round eyes at the front lol. Anf it sounds great with the exhaust on there...

Thanks Steven

Woohoo ever is talking to you has no idea.

Your bike has a better top speed and more sports orientated riding style than the new zx2. It's in general faster.

It is almost the same as the cbr. Same engine (just about) and same top speed. Just doesn't have the double disc front brakes and thAt is only if your comparing it to the cbr250rr. Most don't know the difference.

Yours is fine. The newer 250's are not faster at all. In fact the new ones are only twins compared to your inline 4

Awesome thanks for the advice. Yea I noticed that alot of CBR's only have the one rotor at the front when my ZXR has 2 :) and I've also noticed that my ZXR sounds way better then the new 250s... Like I said earlier my bike sounds like an F1 car lol.

One more question... My front forks are upside down... Most bikes I've seen have their forks/shock absorber the other way around. Why is this? Better handling?

Like the others have said your bike's got sports oriented engine, chassis and suspension.

The ninja 250 Is basically the same twin gpx250 Kawasaki has been making for the last 500 years, with twin discs a couple of mods, sexy fairings and most importantly the name 'Ninja'.

Make sure you keep up the oil and filter changes and nip any potential problems in the bud with the help of a good mechanic - if you need one see sponsors pages and reviews or ask around here to find one that suits. :kuda:
