Has anyone else who runs a ZX7R had any problems with front brakes feeling very soft and spongy.Ive bled them many times with some good results, but only to find they return to their former state of poor control and braking ability. This seems to be a re-occurring problem that I am plagued with, continually,if there is anyone that could give me some advice on how to rectify this problem ,it would be very much appreciated, cheers

Its Possible your master cylinder has seen better days

lines might be expanding under pressure? whats the condition of your brake lines like?
Have you changed the fluid, or just bled the system? Fluid may have a little water in it, which will compress and give you a spongy lever.

I reckon ive bled a whole bottle of Dot 4 fluid thru it ,but ive just been told today that my lines are probably rooted.I wrapped my hand around and pumped the brakes, and could feel them swell just a bit, which is probably enough to cause me grief.Do you have any idea the cost of new brake lines?

Get braided lines, i think theyre about $250-$300 from memory, but that could be way off. Stock, rolly less than a hundred bucks from a wrecker.
Brided would be the way to go if your springing for new ones though.

I've got exactly the same problem with my '95 model ZX9. I've just replaced all the seals in the calipers, put new braided lines on and it's still pretty much the same. I'm about to replace the master cylinder with radial type with a larger diameter, fingers crossed that solves my problem.

Give Hel Performance a call.
http://www.helperformance.com.au/They give great service, great lines with everything you need (yeah I've actually bought a set of Goodrich hoses before that didn't include the banjo bolts) and good price. From memory lines for front and rear cost $250 when I bought them about 10 months ago.
