ZX7RR Fairings in Carbon / Kevlar

Postby zx793rr » Mon Jan 05, 2009 1:39 pm

I am looking for somone that would make a set of Carbon / Kevlay fairings for my WSBK. I am not looking for street fairings with the holes blocked up. Another option is to buy a set of molds and modify them myself so they fit correctly. I have a set already but they are fibre glass and the wrong year. I am after older style which seems to pretty close to the road version (Large Air Ducts - New ones are smaller)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mark

You could try Racers Edge. They have the zx7r moulds and do custom Carbon / Kevlar work.

Had a look at Racers edge. Mostly road molds used for race. Not specifically race versions. Upper part was close but I have just realised one of my fairings is the older style so I might fix it and make the mold myself.

Two different fairings....check pic for intake sizes. Closest is the early model (similar to road bike) while the others have different intakes

If your looking for older model 91/92 ZXR750 fairings I have a carbon fibre set off Mladins bike, but you're probably looking for newer model fairings.

I'm probably haven't been any help at all

Yeah, after the 96 version. I fitted the older style fairing last night and the ram air intakes now line up. Now I need an old screen. It never ends

You got Mladins bike ? Good to see someone in Brisy that has some of this stuff.

I wish I had Mladins bike, just the fairings.

Where would you find something like Mladins bike (or similar), I'd be interested in getting something like that?

How long do you reckon before you finish your bike and what's the plan for it?

I'm planning a trip to Italy / France / UK / Switzerland for the 'Tour de France' in July so I doubt that I'll have the bike finished before then. I'll probably visit the guys in Italy that I bought it off to see what bits they have.

I'll ride it occasionaly but it won't be raced.

Greenman had a Bayliss frame and Mladdin forks. Not sure what his bike was but he'd know where to get one.

cheers

Hey Mark. I have the set of fairings that I bought from you plus a set of racers edge ones. If you want to come out to Ippy and have a look at the difference between them let me know.

It looks like my set maybe the middle of the 3 in your pic :kuda:

Thanks Mitch. I'll keep going with these at the moment. My main issue is the screen now. The one I have doesn't seem to fit well on either sets of fairning so the one I sold you was probably the correct one.
I'll have a talk to some guys down here that make screens to see how they would go after I sort out what I'll do with the fairing. Ian pollard looks like the right guy but his may still be incorrect (may make my own molds).
I fitted the tank last night and found that now I've changed airboxes, the tank doesn't fit as well. Different tanks for different aiboxes.

These photos don't look much different but use different tanks

If you're still looking for fairings I found this site and they do a WSB fairing but it is an endurance version with a headlight hole (maybe they could glass it in?) and they do carbon as an option. There is some drama with shipping to Australia due to box size or something but you would need to email them to clarify.
