zx12r hp at the wheel

Postby 98ninja » Mon Feb 11, 2008 2:25 pm

i have a friend thats betting me a dyno run that a stock 2000 model zx12r with 37000kms on the clock will make less than 150hp at the wheel.
i think its win win either way i get a dyno run.

Depends on the dyno and the condition of the bike, but I reckon it should get over 150hp no worries

Ya should be safe i'd say. Most dyno's run a bit on the optomistic side as well.

those unrestricted models are not allowed on most dyno's, as they tend to throw the drive-drum out of balance !!

You should have no dramas getting at least 150hp at the rear out of a stocker. What happened with the dyno run anyway ??

I had my 06 ZX12R dynoed before I went to Phillip Island WSBK. Roo Racing carbon can, DNA filters and PC3 Power Commander.

169.5 hp at the rear wheel and over 100Nm of torque. Jamie from Bikecare at Adamstown did the numbers.

Cheers

Mick

P.S.

20000kms on the clock

When my A1 was completely stock it made 158hp at the wheel. Not sure on the dyno, would have to find the print out. IMO if it makes below 150hp there's something wrong with the bike! I've had it on two other dynos and it always makes over 160hp (slip on pipe and PCIII).
