Z750 - which exhaust pipe?

Postby mooneydean » Thu May 09, 2013 5:28 pm

Hi Guys,

I have a new Z750 (2012) and have been eyeing up the Akra (short) titanium pipe and the SC Project M2 GP.

Does anyone have any thoughts on which should make it to the top of the list?

I'm sure there are going to be other suggestions too and I am open to hearing your views prior to spending the cash!!

Hi 6maniac,

Cheers for the offer but it's not really what I'm after though.

The guy that serviced my bike kinda rolled his eyes when I asked him about these trumpet type pipes and he seems to think they are great for making noise but also for losing power... He tried to steer me toward the Leo Vince GP Pro but it doesn't look like it will match the anodised black that covers the rest of the metal parts on the bike.

I'm taking an '09 Z750 for a test ride tomorrow with thoughts of selling the ZRX.The 750 has a carbon-can Two-Brothers pipe on it.
I know nothing about them, just saying another pipe to look at I 'spos. ;)

Hi Stuzrx,

It will be good to hear your thoughts after being close up and seeing / hearing the 2 Bros pipe. From the images I've seen on line it looks like its a bit long? Thats why I like the look of the SC Project M2 GP... What do you think?

Hmmmm... not sure how to drop the image in here properly

I'm going to get the Leo Vince one for mine, just got to decide if a set of headers is worth the cost for looks alone ... I'm not after power, just a neat looking system.

I couldn't hold back any longer and have ordered the SC Project GP M2.

dave#3 it wasn't really the power that drew me to this pipe but actually the looks, the power is just a bonus!

The Leo Vince is a pretty neat looking pipe and was in my top 3 for sure!

Cheers.

Personally I'm not real keen on that GP M2 pipe.I like a can angle that sorta matches the frame or body work line.

I'm pretty keen on the Z750 I rode today, was a wet to hook in to twisties much but I got an idea of what it does.Only actual prob was the two-brothers can.How freakin' loud was that sucker!!!??? Man it was way way loud.I had to stop half way through my run to put the ear plugs in!! That can will be gone if the bike moves in at home.
Which it looks like it will. 8)

Don't get that Two-Brothers can...way too loud.

Hey sturzx,

The angle on the can was something that did unsettle my OCD tendencies but the sleek look of it compared to other cans won the day. I also agreed a pretty good price for it as long as I do a favour in return and take some before and after pictures for the importers website to help promote the fact that SC Project is now available in Australia.
I'll do a before and after video as well for guys on here so that anyone else that wants to make a comparison in future has it as a resource.

Hey Mr mooneydean.....how'd you go with that SC Project GP M2 pipe you were getting??? I've decided that the titanium GP silencer pipe is the one for mine.

Have only just been checking it all out and will be seeing my guys at Bikeworx later today.

I'm real keen to know your thoughts on your pipe!! hat36.gif

Stu, don't you do a lot of touring????? ZRX is better for that function. I looked at a Z750 around 08 but the seat didn't suit my arse. ZRX lots more comfy but behind in handling, stock.
