Radiator leak 05 zrx

Postby Clarkixlc » Fri May 03, 2013 5:41 pm

So it happened after almost a year of drama free riding I have copped a pin hole or two leak in my radiator. Now Im just looking for an unbiased opinion on the tealdo radiator and els rad bracket package from kwick. Compared to the oem radiator.

Opinion on is it worth the cost as I'm located in Sydney. Australia. And is there much price difference ?

Thanks guys.

Yes, a Tealdo rad is CHEAPER than oe one.

Just make sure you use proper coolant in it and it will be fine.

The other advantage of the Tealdo is that the weak spot at the top where many OE ones have split has been strengthened, so its no issue.

Add in the fact it looks better, has greater cooling power (it wont run cooler, but will take longer for the fan to come on) and is stronger, lighter AND cheaper....whats not to like. :kuda:

Maybe they split because thus far no human has been able to design a vessel capable of containing so much awesome. It's a common Kawasaki fault, they had the same issues with the zx7r coolant bottles.

Thanks mate I think that may of been what happened. It's only a small leak but it is near the top. Looks like I'm gonna have to wait a while tho and the bike will be off the road for a bit until I can afford it.

Also the delkevic radiator might be an option for the moment as it is a lot cheaper. Obviously it wouldn't last as long as a tealdo but might be the best way put at the moment.

There are many horror stories on ZRXOA of them (Delkevic) not lasting, one guy had 4 of them as they kept splitting and getting replaced.........I did have one but it started to leak in a bit over a year.

I did over 60,000klms with the Delkevic rad in mine. No issues. But I do ride like nanna!
