Operating temperature range for z750

Postby stoker » Wed Oct 31, 2012 10:05 am

Hi guys,
Just wondering what the normal running temperature range is for a z750. On a cool day mine site around 65-75 degrees depending on speed. Though in traffic around town on a warm day it gets above 100 when at idle for periods. Is this normal. I notice the fan kicks in just over 100 degrees.
Was just wondering if other sees run in the same temperature range.

Cheers
Rob.

From the manual ...

"When the coolant temperature goes up beyond 100°C (212°F), the radiator fan relay conducts to
operate the radiator fan. The radiator fan draws air through the radiator core when there is not sufficient
air flow such as at low speeds. This increases up the cooling action of the radiator. When the
coolant temperature is below 97°C (207°F), the fan relay opens and the radiator fan stops."

On my ZX6R and remember I ride in a hell of a lot hotter conditions that most of you lot the fan cuts in at 102 and cuts back out at 98, round town fan is cutting in and out all the time, clear run on the highway she rarely gets above 85 though :D So I'd reckon yours is spot on!

I thought it was operating under normal parameters, just wanted to know as I had seen it creep up as the weather got warmer. Have only had this bike for 6 months now. Probably just not used to having a gauge telling me what temperature the coolant is exactly (assuming the calibration is relatively accurate).
Thanks guys.

Seem to be quite accurate or at least very consistent, we did a little run down the track the other weekend, three kwaks a 2010 ZX6R, a 2012 Z1000 and a 2012 ZX14R, got caught at some roadworks and we all had pulled up side by side and noticed that all three fans kicked in almost simultaneously, the RI and a GSXR750 with us kicked in a couple of minutes later, NB we all have radguards fitted (essential up here) so ours do tend to run a degree or so warmer under most conditions.
