After talking to Nelso a while back and him telling me how much smoother his gearchange was after he fitted a KWICK slipper clutch http://kwickstand.net/Hyper-Formance.co ... _Slip.html I was thinking about one. Then - after a really crap day at work - I decided on some retail therapy.
Due to being busy at work, going away with asbk and other little things I do, assignments etc I got sick of the thing sitting in a box in the garage - next to my other mod I am hanging to get on
Bike went in for its service getting ready for the PI trip this week so I asked the mechanic if he could fit it all up while it was there an half apart. I also - on Nelso's & Pete's advice - got the ZR1100 inner hub from Kawsaki Connection to put in as well.
Well, I am impressed, just as Nelso said the gear change is much smoother so I am very happy with the result. I also had a good bit of feedback from Scott the Mechanic, he was impressed as well after he test rode it after the service. He also commented that my cam lobes etc were in pretty good condition for the 15K on the bike......15K I said , yeh, well thats whats on the speedo...........Nah mate, thats the new speedo, I smashed the other one to smitherines at 64986....14 k's off 65000K. The bike has done over 80K now .........
He could not beleive it, as most owners would know there have been some issue with cam lobes pitting very early in the serviceable life, it would appear that mine were not inflicted with this issue.......and he said the bike is clean as inside - another reason why he thought it only had 15K on it.
All I need to do now is fit the new M5's sitting in the garage to stop it steering like a shopping trolley and I'm ready for the GP woooo hoooo.
