Chain and Sprockets for the ZRX

So, its time to have fun and experiment once again :)
Yeah, need to change the chain and sprocket on my ZRX.

Was wondering if I should try out a D.I.D Xring? ( or R K?)
Any clue on which D.I.D xring would fit? The D.I.D's website shows 530 ZVM2 on the list http://www.didchain.com/kawasakipage2.htm. (Can't find it on this list though :| https://www.slipstreamperformance.com.a ... 01_709_714)

Which sprockets do you guys run on? Most of the zrxoa guys prefer the 16/44 it seems. Any advice?

I put a SunStar 44T on mine, still have the stock front and chain though as they were only a few thousands K's old........
You can notice a slight increase in acceleration and a bit easier to pop the front up :D

Try going 1 down on the front then 3 up on the back, with 140hp and 125nm at the wheel its a whole lotta fun... :D

so 16/45? Heh... am only restricted by the stock headers....it still salutes the sky pretty easy though. But I guess yeah, this is gonna be even more fun :P (*Gonna make sure the Mrs doesn't read this  *)

I'll look for Sunstars J-rex, thanks for that.

Which chain do you use Jet?

I've been told by a few friends that purchased DID chains that they stretch like rubber??? EK chains however are a fine product. All chains 520, 525 and 530 are not equal. You need to go on line and find a chain that will match your HP. EK chains have a HP chart that will let you match the HP with the proper chain, http://www.ekchain.com . Good decisions are made better with a shot of JB and a brew.

I always use RK X-Ring chains, 530 on the Rex and 520 on the Zed. I also use std gearing and have trouble keeping the front down with 120 rwhp. Rod has lots more (trouble - that is)- I can vouch for it ;)

Site sponsor Superbike Supply has a deal you can get RK chain and Vortex sprockets for a good price, I also have vortex sprockets on both bikes.

Thanks for that Phil, Is this the chain and Sprocket combo you mentioned from superbike supply?

Vortex 520 Conversion Kit
RK GB520GXW Gold Chain, Vortex Front Sprocket, and Vortex Rear Sprocket (excludes Stunt Sprockets) for $350

Wouldn't I need a 530 on my zrx? Also does (Excludes Stunt Sprockets) means I can only get the stock gearing as a part of the combo?

Yep, thats it. As I said I have a 520 on the Zed, but 530 all the way with nthe ZRX. Although, quality of chains these days is better than it was say 15 yeras ago, a 520 may be OK depending on how hard you ride it and if you make it wheelie lots........

I am pretty sure you can order other sizes, I did ( i got 2 x fronts, 1 x stock and 1 x -1.
