My brother runs a Tom Tom Rider on his BMW...

It has given him the odd bum steer, but he seems very happy with it.

It has a bluetooth connection for his phone too.

Cheers,
Pete

I had to take my PDA/Sat nav back - yet again... i bought it 5 months ago and have used it for only 2! while there they tried selling me a $1300 sat nav for the bike..it was wireless and had blutooth etc (as you would expect for that $$$) - The Sat nav i have uses Tom Tom navigator, but i was thinking of trading it in - i do more kms on the bike than i do the ute...just trying to weigh it up...cheers for the feedback

the 'riders' are $999 at Hardly Normal. The bum has dropped out of the others, but no the rider. I have a uniden, which is pretty good,I got it as a freebie with my phone, Telstra trying to con us hicks into getting on board with the 3G network. I like it, and have it set up to answer when the phone is rung. No one has rang me so far, I've had the phone function set up for a week!

Put your phone number up, Mick - you won't be bored while your riding for months!

Hi, thanks for the post..a bit belated...just got back from Thailand..
I understand the troubles of the north east - I used to live in Corryong :) - I bought my PDA/sat nav from hardly normal and i think they have finally fixed it... like you said they are not worth to many bickies now.. but i'll really test it out when i head to NABIAC...north of Newcastle..

How are you finding the site?

Mine is an old Garmin 60c which is not specific for bike, but is weatherproof.

Alot of manufacturer seems to have bike-specific models now, but I havent seen any of them personally. I think one shold look at the map they want to use *first* before buying the device. Garmin's map is crap for backroads, hence my trusty vic folded map

I'd HAVE to be the test dummy for this one!
My other half wanted to get me one from the day he met me- directional skills= ZERO!
('Follow the twisty bits' has always worked for me- it always comes out somewhere! )
