Hi new to ZRX's

Postby s man » Sun Mar 14, 2010 9:55 am

Hi guys & girls, Ive not long bought a 95 ZRX1200 & thought I better drop in & say hello.
Some of the guys here may already know me. I race in the PCRA, last year I rode a FZR 1000 Peter Jackson replica.
This year Im riding a GSXR750, so far Im still learning how to ride it. Im a member of the maddog forums for PCRA stuff, GSXR forums in the US + the RATs here at home.. But enough about that.
I want to know all things ZRX. Mine has a Remus carbon Fibre slip on, & a 3/4 screen. What I really want to know about is these advancer plates that seem to unleash a few extra hp & a bit extra torque, for very little $$$. Can we get them out here , or do we need to go to the US for them? The guy in the states hasnt got any left, so is there anyone out here that does them?
Thanks & hi
Steve.

I got mine from ZRXOA and have not come across them anywhere over here. When I put mine in I also put a stage 3 jet kit and pod filters on at the same time so the difference in how it pulled was very noticeable. It has much better throttle response and better bottom end and midrange but max horsepower only increased a little bit. It already had a full akra system on it so the HP on paper was ok. There's a thread around somewhere with the figures, called something about creating a wheelie machine.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. Yes the GSXR is a pretty bike. It will be running different colours at the easter races [Barry Sheene] as Ive got myself a sponsor, so this years racing is locked in.

Now Ive been onto the guys on ZRXOA & he hasnt got any advancer plates, so I suppose I'll just have to wait.
Not to worry, ive got other things to do. Im getting some F&R racetech springs, & doing a revalve on both. So that will keep me busy between races.
I really love the ZRX I can say its the best dission ive made, I was looking at a XJR1300SP but everthing I read pointed to the ZRX being just a bit better, so thats the way I went. Im glad I did, what a great bike!! ;)

Steve you are correct. Looks like Ted383 is not doing these for a while, but he will again but not sure when.
Try putting up a post on ZRXOA to buy one, you never know how is wrecking a Rex and might have 1. ;)
Sounds like ya have the suspension well and truly on its way to being sorted. Once you start you just cant stop with the mods... I cant.

Thanks disco. You have seen the GSXR hey? The next time you see it, it wont be in Lucky Strike colours. I have a sponsor for this year, so it'll be different. Expect to see it at the Barry Sheene with exciting new sponsor on board..

Get yourself a fork brace along with your race tech suspension gear. Greg Couch on ZRXOA makes a nice one.

Had mine installed on Saturday and all i can say is "its a massive improvement in the feel of the front end"

Hard to explain, but it has taken the rocking movement out and makes the suspension feel much smoother and up and down!

Yep your right!
The mates RGV is up for sale, after that one meeting he's got the bug & wants a bigger 4 stroke type bike, GSXR/YZF/FZR/Blade etc. The RGV has just had a full service & hasnt turned a wheel since that meeting.

Just been to suspension guru & orded all the stuff for my ZRX. The whole shooting match, springs, valves, shims, the lot. So that'll be the next job, should make for some sweet handling. We are going down the same path as the long turm AMCN ZRX project. We will be modding the standard stuff & not going exoctic gear. Its just way too expencive, & really not thet big of an improvment. We did the same with my FZR1000 & it turned into a great handler when he was finished. :kuda:
