2010 z1000 used

Hi Guys,

I've bitten the billet and sold my 2007 zx6r.

I'm now in the market for a 2010ish z1000. anything I need to look out for in this model used?

I'm considering this as I prefer the black and the km's are low. it also seems a good price for a dealer. The risk is it will be be bought unseen as it's from QLD. also looks like there might be some rust on the headers and cat???

Less preferred option but the price is right I can work with this color scheme. I'd also have to change back the lowering links and kickstand.

Have you looked at the Ninja 1000 ABS,? Basically the same bike as the Z1000, but you get a full fairing, bigger tank, taller gearing, & better seat, for about the same money.?? Just saying, they are better value for money..

I considered the ninja 1000 (for about a second ). Always had a soft spot for the supernaked's/streetfighters my other choice would be to stay in the sports bike world and get the zx10r....but then I would have just kept the 6....but I kinda ran out of things to do to it..haha

This is just a good excuse to get a different style of bike and customize the heck out of it..

I'd go the black one in QLD. It looks stock standard and probably hasn't had a hard time, and is a blank canvas for your mods.

I rode a very similar one at Bikebiz when I was looking to buy, had about the same km's as your one in the link. I ended up buying a new 2013 from Kelen's, but apart from the pipes and fender eliminator, the second hand one rode exactly the same as my stock standard new one. 6.5K isn't much so it is likely to have no issues. The only problems I have read about are when you replace the levers with cheap Pazzo knock off's, causes the front brake to drag and boil the fluid. I believe there has been a few crash because of it. Its the lever that is the issue some how, not the bike.

Buy it, you will like it, a great fun bike to ride.

I ended up getting the Black Z got shipping down to Sydney thrown in as well.. I did manage to test ride the 2013 (actually ride it up against the 2014) and loved it...

Also just ordered the IXIL hyper flow slip on's and a new speedR helmet....haha

I've read about the apparent issue with cheap knock off pazzo's... I never had a problem with my cheap $30 knock off levers on the 6R.

Nice 1000ninja....but if I wanted fairing I would still go the zx 10R.... I don't actually have a problem with a bent over race position...I'm actually thinking of getting lower bars and rearsets for the new Z....just can't leave the boy racer in me behind
